Preliminärt energibokslut för Obama
Cass Sunstein har gjort en mycket preliminär rapport över Obama-administrationens insatser för klimatfrågorna: ”Changing Climate Change, 2009-2016: A Preliminary Report” och i redogörelsen ingår en snabb översikt också över energieffektviseringen.
För luftkonditionering och uppvärmning beräknade man att skärpta standarder skulle innebära
....manufacturers would incur about $711 million per year in increased equipment expenses. At the same time, DOE concluded that the rule’s annual benefits — about $2.1 billion in reduced equipment operating costs, about $1.3 billion in reduced CO2 emissions, and about $135 million in reduced nitrogen oxide emissions — easily offset the costs. In total, the Administration projected that these regulations would save consumers $550 billion dollars in their first two decades, and produce energy savings “roughly equivalent to the energy used by all U.S. buildings over one year.”
Liknande resultat har beräknats för ECO-design insatserna i Europa, se bild nedan.
Det är skrivet i stjärnorna (och väl så småningom tillkännagjort på twitter) vad Mr Trump skall göra på området. Det har traditionellt funnits en blocköverskridande rörelse för effektvisering i USA men frågan är om herrn ifråga bryr sig. När frågan senast var uppe i kongressen sades:
“On the bill’s merits — creating jobs, saving consumers money and reducing pollution — it was never a hard sell,” ... “The tough part was convincing Washington to not play politics with a good idea.”
