IISD (International Institute for Sustainable Development) har granskat det som de kallar “Zombie Energy” det vill säga den mängd fossila bränslen som får konstgjord andning genom subventioner (se bild nedan).

The reserves of fossil fuels that would be uneconomical to produce as a result of subsidy removal amount to 120–138 Gt of C02 over 2017–2050. This is equivalent to 13–15 per cent of all reserves in the existing and under-construction oil and gas fields, and coal mines in 2015

Det skulle här vara frestande att här fundera över hur detta dessutom påverkas av de åtgärder som aviserats av en zombieliknande president men där har vi ännu inte sett hur situationen kan utvecklas.
